Our mission as a youth ministry is to make disciples who make disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God (Matt. 4:19, 28:19-20)!
Our goal of making disciples is to see students become spiritually mature and more like Jesus Christ (Col. 1:28, Rom. 8:29).
Our desire is to see students worshipping, growing, and serving Jesus Christ with their entire lives. Listed below are some of the ways we seek to help students do so.
TNT
Thursdays at 6:00 pm
September – May
If you’ve heard much about the Bible, you have probably heard the words of Jesus to “go therefore and make disciples,” which many call the great commission. Well, what is a disciple? Where are we supposed to go? How do we make disciples? This commission is not simply for pastors, missionaries, and older Christians, it’s for everyone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ – which includes students!
This semester, we will embark on a series called “DiscipleShift.” Our desire is to help students understand more clearly what this commission from Jesus means, define what a disciple is, unpack how we make disciples, and identify some of the characteristics of a disciple looks like. Our goal is to invite students to be disciples of Jesus Christ and then to respond to Jesus’ commission to go and make disciples. We want to see students take this invitation to heart and re-shift their livelihood to both be a disciple and to go out and make disciples of Jesus Christ, for the glory of God.
“And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” -Matthew 4:19
TNT (Thursday Night Teens) is for students in 7th-12th grade. AT TNT, students will enjoy snacks and games, be led in worship by our youth worship band, open up and study the Bible together and spend time in small groups reflecting and discussing the teaching of the night. In short, it’s a BLAST!
If your student is looking to learn how to study the Bible and dig deeper into their faith, we would love to have them join us!
TNT will kick off for the fall semester on September 14, 2023!
Our Mission for Youth Ministries
Our mission is to intentionally lead students to see God as He has revealed Himself in the Scriptures: the only true God, infinitely glorious and worthy of our worship; to equip our students through the Scriptures to become like Christ; to reach out to unsaved students with the Gospel, and to support parents to be the primary disciple-makers of students in their home.
We do this by studying the Bible with students, forming Christ-like relationships, empowering students for spiritual growth and student leadership, as well as mobilizing them to Spirit-led Christian service in the church and community. We also have a lot of fun along the way too!
Teen Leadership Council
This group of Sr. High teens meets monthly to learn about the many facets of Christian leadership.
They are plugged into ministry according to ‘gifting’ & given many additional opportunities to develop leadership skills through service, workshops, retreats, and mentoring.
Bible Quiz Team
The Fellowship Bible Quiz Team meets regularly to read, study, and memorize scripture to prepare for several local and regional competitions from September through May. Friendly camaraderie, competition, and fellowship make for a wonderful experience, all while students learn to hide God’s word in their hearts.

Youth Worship Band
Through the Youth Worship Band, students are given opportunities to lead worship, develop their musical gifts, and be trained to be better worship leaders for the glory of Jesus. The Youth Worship Band leads worship weekly at our T.N.T. gatherings!
Student Life Missions Camp
Summer
Each summer we travel to the Poconos for SLMC to connect students to Christ, to our staff, and to each other through small group Bible study, corporate worship, teaching lessons, and activities built around strengthening relationships.
For a few hours each day, we also serve at various charitable organizations in the local community. SLMC is the highlight of the summer, and even the year for many of our students (and staff)!
Missions & Service Projects
A huge aspect of our youth ministry is service. We provide a number of opportunities for students to participate in summer missions as well as special missions projects throughout the year.
Service projects include:
- Student Life Missions Camp
- Adopt-A-Highway
- Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes
- Support to students on missions trips
- Food Pantry donations & collections
- Serving at various church events
