Celebrating Independence Day with Thanksgiving & Prayer
As we celebrate Independence Day, we’re reminded of the many blessings we enjoy as a nation—freedoms hard-won, opportunities generously provided, and most of all, the ability to gather freely for worship without fear. These gifts are not to be taken lightly, and as believers, we recognize that every good gift comes from God (James 1:17).
This Fourth of July, let’s celebrate not only with gratitude, but also with a renewed commitment to prayer. In thankful prayer, we acknowledge God’s provision in the past and seek his guidance for the future. We give thanks for our many blessings and freedoms, and we turn our praise to God, the One who is sovereign over all nations and authorities.
Our prayer is that God would grant wisdom to our leaders, that our country would be governed with integrity, and that justice and truth would prevail. We pray that hearts would be softened and transformed by the power of the Gospel, and that the name of Jesus would be lifted high in every city, state, and nation across the globe.
We invite you to join us in this spirit of thankful, faithful prayer today. As we enjoy fireworks and cookouts, may we also pause to ask God to bless America—not just with prosperity, but with truth, righteousness, and revival. May he align our hearts with his perfect will.
Happy Fourth of July!
