Welcome Abbie James, Student Ministries Intern
As a church that values equipping people to use their gifts for God’s glory, we are always seeking for ways to help people grow and develop through ministry experience. This spring, Abbie James will be serving as a Student Ministries intern at Fellowship Church. The internship is intended as a means of equipping and training through a deliberate process of experiences which will result in personal and practical growth in the various components of student ministry and church ministry life.
Abbie connected with Fellowship during her time attending college at Misericordia University. Through our college ministry, Abbie trusted Christ as her Savior and began growing in knowledge of God’s Word and in Christlikeness. Here at Fellowship, Abbie has been active in our college ministry, serves in Kids’ Church, and loves the intergenerational discipleship she experiences in her Community Group. She has a heart for discipleship and loves to serve. In the future, Abbie hopes to serve the Lord by using her skills, spiritual gifts, and personal experiences in ministry, though at this point she is not sure exactly how. We are hopeful that this internship experience will be used by God to equip and direct Abbie regarding her steps for the future.
This internship will give Abbie more experience and responsibility in various aspects of student ministry, while also providing avenues for her to use her gifts in serving God here at Fellowship. You may see Abbie at the church during the week, helping lead various aspects of TNT, and meeting with students to help them grow in their faith, all under the direction of Pastor Nick. When you do, remember that God is at work in the youth and young adults of our church, raising them to be mature, godly adults who are prepared to serve the Lord in every area of their lives. It is an honor and a privilege for us as a church to be used by God in this way.
