The dedication of a child to the Lord is ultimately a dedication of the family to raise the child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We are looking forward to our next child dedication service. If your family is interested in being part of an upcoming service to dedicate your children back to the Lord, please read through this page carefully, and complete the form below. One of our pastors will be in touch with you once we receive your completed form.
As part of this dedication, parents are asked to:
- Publicly affirm your personal faith in Christ, and renew your dedication to Him and His Word.
- Pray daily for God’s direction in your lives and in the lives of your children
- Faithfully participate in the ministry of Fellowship Church with your children.
- Teach your children the truths of God’s Word in your home.
- Anticipate and seek to lead your children to a personal faith in Christ as soon as they are ready.
- Recognize that your children belong to God and have been born to experience His love and to serve Him.
Child dedication is a commitment to the ongoing discipleship of a child, in the context of a local church community. Therefore, the expectation is that the parent(s) of the children being dedicated are members (or in the process of becoming members) of Fellowship, the local church where that ongoing discipleship will take place.
Teachings of Scripture:
- Jesus Christ’s Example (Luke 2:22)
- Jesus Christ’s Teaching (Mark 10:13-16)
- The Example of Hannah & Samuel (1 Samuel 1:10-11, 1:26-28)
- The Responsibility of Godly Parents (Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Ephesians 6:4)
