The Manger: A Symbol of Hope
“For unto you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” – Luke 2:11-12
Imagine if the Christ had never come; never been born. Imagine a world with no hope. There may be people with no hope in this world, but make no mistake that hope has come to this world.
That hope came into the world in the form of a baby; a baby that could not be stopped. With him and through him there is hope for all who have been cursed with sin and death. No matter how bad things may seem for you, no matter how hopeless life may seem, the manger is a symbol of hope. Hope has come, and it came through the Christ child: the offspring of a woman, foretold thousands of years ago.
God always has a plan of hope and victory for you. The Christ child is proof of that. But you must trust God’s plan, you must believe that this Christ child is God in the flesh and that he has come to free you from the curse of sin and death.
Emmanuel, God with us, has come. Hope is here. May he be your hope today.
