Prayer & Reflection
by Mark Weiss
Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.
1 Chronicles 16:11
So, here we are on the verge of an historic weekend for Fellowship Church. Another step of faith in what has been a succession of small, obedient faithful steps to carry through with the mission of our body- “Making disciples that make disciples.” I am reminded of the line in the movie, Field of Dreams: “If you build it, they will come”. That may not be a biblical proverb, but this is what we are praying for nonetheless! That has been a prayer since the beginning of this project. That people would come.
Building not only a legacy for the next generations, but building a place where people will be able to meet God face to face, experience His love and grace through worship, hear preaching of the truth, enjoy fellowship with caring people, and even have physical needs met.
We must continue to pray for the coming days ahead.
We must continue to pray for the coming days ahead: for safety of the construction crews as they work, for the hearts of people in our community and families to be impacted by the gospel, for Fellowship to continue to be a lighthouse and a hospital for those who need it, and for stamina and faithfulness to abound in the leadership of the church. I invite you to pray the following prayer with the Legacy of Worship team in preparation for the groundbreaking service this Sunday:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
“Father God, We are in complete awe and amazement of how You have worked out Your plans for this body since the very beginning. In consecrating ourselves, and everything we have at the start of this endeavor, we were openly confessing that the success of anything that happened would be by Your Will, within Your timing, and for your Glory. We pray that we would continue to consecrate ourselves as the days continue. We pray in advance that the worship center that will soon come to pass would be a testament to Your faithfulness. We desire to be a reflection of You to those around us that need to see and hear what a great God You are. Keep us obedient, and faithful, and continue to stir in us a heart of worship and sacrifice.”
