An Opportunity to Give
In Ezra 2, the people of God return to Jerusalem after 70 years of exile in Babylon. When they arrived, they were so excited and thankful as they stood on the site of the temple – in ruins at that time, and overjoyed with the fact that God was restoring them that they had a worship service with one item on the order: giving. It was a time where they were so appreciative to God for what he was doing among them that they “gave freewill offerings to God” out of thankfulness to God, even after 70 years of exile.
We have an opportunity like that as a church. On April 7 we have a very exciting service happening – it is our Groundbreaking Service! Our church has been planning and looking forward to this day for several years. We will be breaking ground for the place of worship for our Almighty God. This is a huge step for Fellowship Church and we wanted to give the congregation an opportunity to express gratefulness and thankfulness to God by bringing a celebration gift to that service, similar to what we see God’s people doing in the book of Ezra: We want to thank God for bringing us to this place, and express our gratefulness to him for his faithfulness and goodness by offering a gift; above and beyond our normal tithe and Legacy pledged contributions.
We will be receiving a celebration gift offering on April 7. Please begin taking the time to pray and think about your gift.
If you can’t make it to the Groundbreaking, you can also give your celebration gift online!
